Internet Resources

Several Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are offering free or low-cost internet access options in response to the COVID-19 health emergency. The following providers serve all or part of the River Falls School District.

Century Link Lifeline Program
Century Link Lifeline Program helps make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. Lifeline provides subscribers a discount on monthly broadband. The discounts, which can be applied to stand-alone broadband, bundled voice-broadband packages – either fixed or mobile – and stand-alone voice service – help ensure that low-income consumers can afford 21st-century broadband and the access it provides to jobs, education and opportunities. New customers will receive two months of free service in response to the Coronavirus emergency.All qualified low-income households can get broadband access for $9.95/month. To sign up, applicants can simply visit The accessible website also includes the option to video chat with customer service agents in American Sign Language. There are also two dedicated phone numbers 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.
To help families during this time of need, today Verizon announced plans for a discount program on Fios broadband plans for qualified new low-income customers and two months waived service charges for current Verizon customers that are part of the Lifeline discount program. Verizon is waiving late fees and keeping residential and small business customers connected if negatively impacted by the global crisis. West Wisconsin Telcom
West Wisconsin Telcom will offer free broadband and WiFi access for 60 days to households with K-12, college students or anyone who needs a broadband connection to work remotely. Must be a new Broadband customer to qualify and where 24-7 & West Wisconsin broadband is available. Installation fees will be waived. 24-7 & West Wisconsin Telcom will partner with school districts to ensure local communities are aware of these changes to help students learn remotely.
