The library has some very exciting news – NASA has selected the library to be a “host site” for a James Webb Space Telescope launch event!

By becoming a “host site,”  the Library will receive up to 200 James Webb Telescope folders, pins, stickers, posters, and lithographs to help promote science education in the greater Hudson community.

The new telescope, whose launch date is set for December 18, will be the “largest, most powerful and complex space telescope ever built and launched into space” and will be the “premier observatory of the next decade” according to the Space Telescope Science Institute.

Chris Mick will be holding programs about the telescope and the launch throughout the day on Tuesday, December 28. We hope you can join us for this very exciting and history making occasion! The Phipps has generously offered to host the event.
