The Hudson Area Public Library will transform into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’s Hudson Satellite Campus in a special camp for kids from Aug. 13-17. Activities will take place each afternoon from 10:30am-12:30pm.
After the sorting ceremony, our young wizards will spend two hours each afternoon learning potions, herbology, transfiguration and the care of magical creatures, including creatures that speak parseltongue (snakes!).
Our professors also will organize crafts, whip up a batch of butterbeer and organize quidditch teams for a tournament in Riverfront Park. Our wizards in training can test their Potter knowledge with trivia and a horcrux scavenger hunt. Each participant will get a special souvenir from our satellite campus.
Space for the camp is limited, registration begins June 11th. The camp is designed for kids in grades 3-6, but exceptions can be made. Once kids are registered, they will receive a special acceptance letter. There is no fee for the camp, and all supplies are provided.
The library has many programs for kids this summer – from book clubs to STEAM activities to special storytimes. Most Tuesday afternoons we’re bringing in performers to do fun all-ages events like magic, music and yo-yo tricks.
We’ve added additional events this year to help parents fill the extra long summer break in the school district due to construction, so be sure to check our website for all our events.
Class is full but you can still get on the wait list at the children’s desk.
