Discovering Family History Part 3: Getting the Most Out of Your Sources

This session will help you make sure you’re getting the most out of the records you find in your family history research. You’ll learn to glean all the information from each record, evaluate its reliability, and identify the clues it contains for further sleuthing.

Lois Abromitis Mackin, Ph.D., is a professional genealogist focusing on American and English research. Lois writes and teaches about genealogical records and methods, including DNA. She is a state officer for the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, a past president of the Northland chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists, and a past officer of the Minnesota Genealogical Society.
