Community Service Event: With Love, Hudson
Our wonderful Hudson community is going to party with a purpose!
Thursday, Friday and Saturday during regular hours in the Library lobby.
We are inviting Hudson to come together and help make shoes for Ugandan orphans!
Stop for a few minutes, or stay awhile. A great experience open to everyone. We will trace and cut denim and plastic pieces and ship them to Uganda, where local cobblers are employed to make the shoes. The shoes are given free through the non-profit organization, Sole Hope, who also provides medical assistance to these children for removal of jiggers (a health epidemic among those without shoes).
- Denim jeans (old/new • any size)
- Plastic jugs (milk/water • clean)
- You and your friends
Donations may be dropped off at the library, 700 First Street, Hudson or contact the Friends of the Library at firstname.lastname@example.org.
